Brooke Laughlin is inspired by spending summers on a ranch in the wilderness near the border of Yellowstone National Park. One has to hike or ride horses to access it. The artist uses a variety of watercolor techniques to capture scenes within the park. She layers color to create depth, capturing the rippling water, the myriads of greens in the trees and grasses, the soft, airy, color flows of the sky. Her work is often studied by other artists visiting the gallery to learn from her very skillful and inspired techniques. All of her work is of scenes in Yellowstone Park.
