George Kalantzes is a landscape / nature photographer whose artwork depicts the quiet beauty found within the grand landscapes of the American West. Simple, intimately composed images are key characteristics of his work. He is a self-taught photographer who embarked on a professional landscape photography career in 2014.
George devotes a considerable amount of time studying and educating himself on traditional and contemporary elements of photography. His photography has been previously exhibited at The Emerson Center for the Art & Culture (Bozeman, MT); Livingston Center for Art & Culture (Livingston, MT); Sweet Pea Art Show - ERA Landmark Realty Gallery (Bozeman, MT); Lockhorn Cider House (Bozeman, MT); Auction for the Arts (Big Sky, MT); Art’e Gallery (St. George, UT); Center for the Arts at Kayenta (Ivins, UT); and at The Frame Garden Gallery (Livingston, MT). George has self-published five photography books (including updated volumes): My Montana, Perspectives of a Montana Landscape Photographer. In The Moment, Perspectives of a Utah Landscape Photographer. A 2022 Landscape Photography Retrospective. More Than a Pretty Picture, The Art of Landscape Photography. Most recently, in 2024 he published Musings in Monochrome. George is currently represented by Gallery 873 at the Kayenta Arts Village in Ivins, Utah, The Frame Garden Gallery and The Livingston Center for Arts & Culture in Livingston, Montana. He is actively seeking gallery representation in the Bozeman, Montana regional arts market. George’s photography is collected by private individuals and commercial clients. His work has appeared on the app for the Bozeman International Film Festival. He has licensed images on display at the Cannery District (Bozeman, MT); Livingston HealthCare; and Benefis Health System (Great Falls, MT). He has also contributed or placed cover images in publications including St. George Utah Health & Wellness Magazine, Montana Quarterly Magazine, Bozeman Magazine, Gallatin River Task Force Annual Report and Montana Fly Fishing Magazine.
